Dr. Poon specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and has extensive experience in hand replantation and microsurgery. His methodical and artistic surgical techniques enable him to take on challenging cases. To ensure the success of personalized enhancements, he builds natural partnerships with his patients, guiding them through the entire process from first consultation to final visit.
Originally from Hong Kong, Dr. Poon has received a wide array of training from some of the world’s top institutions. He attended John Hopkins University where he specialized in correcting congenital, traumatic and oncologic craniofacial deformities. He obtained his microvascular and craniofacial fellowship from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan. He received his plastic surgery training from Medical College of Ohio and his general surgery training from Beth Israel Medical Center. Through Dr. Poon’s rigorous medical training, he has cultivated an irreplaceable accumulation of skill and expertise.
Dr. Poon has also distinguished himself in the scientific community through his research, scientific presentations and publications. He has won numerous awards, including best scientific presentation award from the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He takes pride in giving back the education and experience he has received through medical missionary work.
